Check the Status of Your Refund

After filing your return, you can check the status of any refunds online through the Internal Revenue Service’s “Where’s My Refund?” tool. 72 hours after e-filing a return and three to four weeks after mailing a return, log into the site at: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html.

From there, enter your SSN, filing status, and refund amount shown on your tax return. Check back on Wednesdays, as the information is updated weekly.
